IMS Park - Projek Komuniti Taman

Terdapat empat ikon dibina di situ iaitu Layar (The Sail), Roda Stereng (The Steering Wheel), Dataran Palma (Palm Square) dan Struktur Rukunegara (The Rukunegara Structures).

'The Sail' berlatarbelakangkan Menara Trend

Oooo ... IMS bermaksud International Maritime Square rupanya ...

Dari belakang, 'The Sail' diikuti 'The Palm Square' (tengah) dan paling hadapan 'The Steering Wheel''

The Sail
The sail represents the shipping community's pride and happiness in His Royal Highness Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah - the Sultan of Selangor's, successful solo sailing mission round the world on his boat “Jugra” in 1995 – 1996 covering 27,940 nautical miles. His Royal Highness’s extraordinary achievement serves an inspiration to many, especially his subjects who come to realize that nothing is impossible if you put your heart and mind to what you want to achieve. The Sail also serves as an icon of the port-city of Klang, or Klang Bandar Diraja being part of the internationally significant and most important port of Malaysia, namely Port Klang.

The Steering Wheel

The symbolic structure of the Steering Wheel serves to motivate visitors to take the Captain’s seat by focusing on a mental picture of their journey to “targeted destination”. In the shipping world there i a saying “You cannot change the course of the wind, but ou can steer your ship to where you want to go. The winds of uncertainly may blow for a while but they will not push you off course if you are clear about what you want ...”

The Palm Square
The Palm Square is made up of 16 palm trees rising from 16 planter boxes arranged on a diagonal axis in the Park. Each planter box has a seating platform around its four-sided perimeter. The 16 planter boxes combined provide a total of 64 seating benches. When fully lighted with spot lights at night, the Palm Square appears like a jewel with 16 glittering diamonds. This feature is designed to represent the meaning of the name of the location of the Park, namely Taman Intan. Translated in Bahasa Malaysia Taman Intan, is a Garden of Diamonds.

The Rukunegara  Structures
“Rukunegara” proclaimed in 1970 i the five-point national principle which serves as the “beacon” for nation building.

The five leaning pillars bearing the five principles of Rukunegara in the Park are dedicated:
- to achieve a greater unity of all her peoples;
- to maintain a democratic way of life;
- to create a just society in which the wealth of the nation shall be equitably shared;
- to ensure a liberal approach to her rich and diverse cultural traditions; and
- to build a progressive society which shall be oriented to modern science and technology.

We, the people of Malaysia, pledge our united efforts to attain these ends guided by these principles:

- BELIEF IN GOD
- LOYALTY TO KING AND COUNTRY
- UPHOLDING THE CONSTITUTION
- RULE OF LAW
- GOOD BEHAVIOUR AND MORALITY

"The true secret of happiness lies in taking a genuine interest in all the details of daily life."
- William Morris
